note to self

By appointment to: Best in Park

I love dogs. I love their funny little faces and soft dark eyes, I love their terrible breath, I love how seriously they take themselves, I love how friendly they are to me. I especially love my dog Tess. I can hardly believe how cute and awesome she is. She’s sitting on my lap as I type this, gently licking my fingers and staring out the window. Now she’s trying to rest her chin on my wrist. It won’t work, Tess.

A while back, I stumbled across Best in Park while searching for cool dog stuff online. “How cool”, I thought while scoping the plaid dog jackets and sweet braided leather collars, “those New Yorkers sure do nail it at this stuff”. Upon closer inspection, I discovered the label is actually based down the road from me in Fitzroy. Holy crap!

To cut a long story short, I got one of those plaid dog jackets (it makes Tess look a bit like Dr Watson) and a collar, too. I got to talking with Christina, the label’s creator, and we hatched a plan to create a collaborative piece between Best in Park and Note to Self. What we came up with is a dog coat made from premium Japanese ringspun denim, complete with a selvage-edge pocket (perfect for poo bags), faux-fur lining and collar. It has a tough yet sophisticated vibe and I love it. It has a bit of a Fonzie vibe. Ehhhhhhhhhhhh.

You can buy a dog coat from the Best in Park web store.
